What data is collected?

The following data is collected and processed when using this app:

  • Email address and password (stored encrypted) for account access
  • Profile information: name, field of study, degree, semester, career goal, LinkedIn profile (students)
  • Profile information: company, industry, contact person, target departments, open positions (companies)
  • Interest declarations and matching data between students and companies
  • Event attendance: which sessions you plan to attend
  • Feedback and chat messages with the AI Event Buddy (anonymized for analysis)

Purpose of data processing

Data is used exclusively for organizing and conducting Career Service events: networking between students and companies, program planning, contact exchange on site, and event feedback.

Legal basis

Processing is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Data sharing

When you express interest in a company, your profile information (name, field of study, career goal, LinkedIn) becomes visible to that company. Companies are required to delete transmitted data no later than four weeks after the event.

Retention and deletion

Your account and data will be deleted no later than 30 days after the event (July 10, 2026). You can request deletion of your account and all stored data at any time by emailing stephan.pflaum@lmu.de.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, deletion, and restriction of processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability and objection. Contact stephan.pflaum@lmu.de for questions.

AI Event Buddy

The Event Buddy uses the Claude API (Anthropic) to answer questions. Your chat messages are transmitted to Anthropic for processing but are not used for AI model training. Feedback messages are stored anonymized in the database.
